Hi,

I’m an artist inspired by the dramatic coastline, distinct seasonal changes, and beautiful nature trails near my home in Midcoast Maine. I was born and raised on the coast of Alabama, and discovered my love for painting while raising my children in Birmingham - Alabama’s “Magic City”. Being immersed in the rich art scene of Birmingham while creating art alongside my children helped lead me on my own artistic journey. Their joy and excitement in the creative process was contagious and inspired me to take painting classes that further fueled my passion.

 Five years ago, my family and I relocated to Damariscotta, Maine where there is endless beauty and inspiration. You can often find me painting plein air studies near my favorite salt ponds or nearby forest trails, or working on larger pieces at my home studio. While most of my paintings are in oil, I enjoy exploring a variety of mediums and techniques. Painting outdoors and consistent experimentation allows me to capture the texture, movement, and light that are central to my art. Expressive mark making, and a process of layering, adding, and subtracting paint, help me to build rich, lively paintings. I am currently a member of the River Arts Gallery in Damariscotta where I exhibit my work.
